Fatal car wreck kills one near Barnsdall

A single car wreck left one dead a half a mile east of Barnsdall city limits on Hwy 123 just north of CR 2402 at about 10:30 p.m. Monday night. Donald Hogue, 31, of Bartlesville, was pronounced dead at the scene from head, arm, leg and trunk injuries. He was traveling north in his 1996 Ford Explorer when it swerved left and then back right before leaving the road in a “broadslide” and impacting an embankment according to the report. The vehicle came to a rest on its wheels, but Hogue was ejected during the roll and crushed by the car. He was not wearing a seat belt.
