Fred Garson Sr. obituary: A veteran and remodeler

Frederick Joseph Garson, Sr., 55, resident of Barnsdall, died Saturday in Bartlesville.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday in the Ethel Reece Cemetery in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. Military rites will be conducted by the Barnsdall American Legion, Webster-Schrack Post # 227. Graveside services and interment will be directed by the Stumpff-Barnsdall Funeral Home.

Frederick Joseph Garson was born August 16, 1956 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to John and Doris (Therrien) Garson.  He was raised and received his education in Methuen, Massachusetts. Frederick entered the U.S. Army on August 6, 1976 and was honorably discharged on December 22, 1978.  Frederick worked in construction most of his life, he owned and operated Garson and Sons Remodeling in Barnsdall, Oklahoma.  Frederick was married to Linda Jean French on December 24, 1982 in Newmarket, New Hampshire.  He has lived in Barnsdall for the last 11 years.  Frederick was a member of the Lighthouse Family Worship Center in Barnsdall.

Survivors include; his wife Linda Jean Garson of Barnsdall, Oklahoma; two sons John Gilbert Garson II and his wife Kristi of Bartlesville and Frederick Joseph Garson Jr. also of Bartlesville; his mother Doris Therrien of Lawrence, Massachusetts; four brothers Leonard Delano of Greenbrier, Tennessee, Jimmy Delano of Georgia, Phillip Blanchette of Rutling, Vermont, William Blanchette of Punta Gorda, Florida ; three sisters Gail Hawkings of Lawrence, Massachusetts, Ruby Garson  Poulin and her husband Rob of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Laura Akins of Nikiski, Alaska; a close family friend Niki Branstetter of Barnsdall; numerous nieces, nephews,  cousins, friends and associates.  Frederick was preceded in death by his father, his step-mother Marie Garson; one son Joey Arthur Garson; one brother Dawson “Sonny” Blanchette and one sister Delores Paradis Nault.
