Richard “Richie” Roberts born to Rozena (Ashbaker) and Paul Roberts on July 31, 1946 in Shawneetown, Illinois, passed this world peacefully in his sleep on Aug 4, 2012 at the age of Sixty-six years and four days. Richard also known as Richie, moved to Pawhuska in 1957 with his family and attended Catholic and Pawhuska Schools. Richard married June (Davenport) June 23, 1966. In that union was born one daughter, Teri Dawn in 1967.
Richie worked for Higgins Brothers in the oil drilling business and as a Derrick hand for Curt Brown Drilling and then for the City of Pawhuska starting as a laborer in 1971, working his way up to Street Supervisor. He retired from the City of Pawhuska in 2004, completing 33 years of service. Richie enjoyed family, hunting, fishing, motorcycles, and numerous other outside activities. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife June of the home, his daughter Teri Dawn (T D), Bartlesville, Oklahoma. One sister, Virginia Wadsworth and husband Isaac (Jimmy), from Nelagoney, Oklahoma, In-laws Dorothy and Jim Armstrong from Hallett, Oklahoma, Barbara Thomas from Pawhuska, Nettie and Charley Miller from Nelagoney, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and many great friends. Memorial service is pending.

as kids we were always together, chasing wild rabbits or trying to catch the big fish.we were more like brothers than friends.we shares manny adventhers as adult, our wifes were good friends so made things easy.our birthdays just a week apart so i always waited for that call.it came year after year.i returned the call 1 week later every year, glad i had that call july 31.good buy old friend i loved you like a brother.
