Lifelong Pawhuska resident RUBY EDNA SHAFER passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012 in the Pawhuska Nursing Home. She was 58 years old.
Ruby was born August 13, 1953 in Pawhuska, the daughter of William Ralph and Rosemary (Richardson) Shafer. A graduate of Pawhuska High School, Ruby was a certified nursing assistant. She enjoyed going to the casino in her spare time. Ruby attended the Pawhuska Bible Church.
Surviving are: Her mother: Rosemary Shafer of Pawhuska; Sisters: Georgia Radford of Claremore; Jo Ann Moody and husband, Mike, of Bartlesville; Mary Rose Stacy and husband, Don, of Locust Grove; Brothers: Richard Shafer of Dewey; Jack D. Shafer and wife, Betty, of Oklahoma City; Ralph W. Shafer and wife, Roberta, of Barnsdall; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as a host of other family and friends. Ruby was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2 p.m. in the Pawhuska City Cemetery. Pastor Mark Buchanan of the Pawhuska Bible Church will officiate. Interment will follow.
